Message from Casalinga Ristorante Italiano
Born in Sorrento, Carlo's culinary travels have taken him across the world. Learning first in the family kitchen, many family members participated in Carlo's training. The next stop was the Grande Hotel in Paris, spending seven years as an executive chef, and developing new recipes along the way. After honing his skills in Europe, Carlo came to the US in the early nineties. Discovering that North Carolina sorely lacked a traditional Italian scene, he moved to Raleigh and opened Casalinga in 1995. Tucked away in the corner of a small mall, Casalinga's preparation and presentation of traditional Old Style Italian dishes has led to its very loyal following. Casalinga has recently expanded, with the addition of an incredible granite bar, and another intimate dining room, all while maintaining the familial atmosphere that makes Casalinga so popular.
